At the University of California San Diego, Dr Matt majored in Animal Physiology & Neuroscience and was an Academic All-American nominee in Track and Field while serving as captain of the team. He then went on to train at the University of San Francisco and passed his Dental Boards at USC. Not only is he a highly skilled clinician, he is also a compassionate person with an excellent chair side manner.
Dr Matt has been working here in Orange County and the Yorba Linda area since earning his degree in 2002. He has been involved in Rotary Club and continues to support local youth sports leagues with a special passion for making custom athletic mouth guards to protect his high school and collegiate level patients. He is an Invisalign provider, is certified in soft tissue laser treatment, and is licensed in Oral Conscious Sedation. In the future, Dr Matt plans to become certified in placing dental implants and administering BOTOX and dermal filler.
Dr Matt is a local product of our beautiful community here as he was born and raised in the Yorba Linda area. He attended schools in the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District where his mother, Kathie was an educator for almost 40 years. In the 70’s she helped initiate the ESL program at Glenview Elementary where Dr Matt participated in the joint ESL/G.A.T.E. program. To this day, he is still proud to exercise his Spanish-speaking skills when the opportunity arises.
Dr Matt attended El Dorado High School where he was a scholar-athlete, Track and Field team captain and an ASB council member. During these years, when not in school, he worked with the Parks and Recreation Department as a T-Ball coach and Recreation Leader.
When he isn’t at work, Dr Matt enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends. He has been married to his wife Elyce since 2012 and they consider their biggest blessing in life to be their two beautiful children. Dr Matt and his family attend Friends Christian Church and have appreciated the life/faith balance that the church and school have provided for their family. His hobbies include cycling, running, and gardening. At the top of Dr Matt’s personal bucket list is traveling to Sicily, Spain, and Portugal, learning how to brew beer, and attending a Red Sox game at Fenway park with his son and father.
